Maurice Tranchant ne fait pas partie des artistes figurant aux Tomes IV et V de l'Encyclopédie des Céramiques de Quimper (Editions de La Reinette) ; toutefois le tome III relate cette signature à plusieurs reprises en page 225 dans un chapître consacré aux séries automobiles. Assiette produite vers les années 1925. L'humour bien compréhensible de cette assiette est à apprécier aux égards de la sitution de l'automobile à cette époque. Diamètre : 245 mm.

Maurice Tranchant is not a member of artists appearing to the Tomes IV and V of the Encyclopedia of Ceramic of Quimper (Editions de la Reinette); however the volume III tells this signature repeatedly in page 225 in a chapître dedicated to the automobile series. Plate produced at about the 1925s. The very understandable humor of this plate is to be appreciated in the consideration of the sitution of the automobile in this time. Diameter: 245 mm.

Le serre-livres "Les Vieux de Locronan" est bien plus célèbre que la pièce précédente. Locronan est le nom de cette petite cité très proche de Quimper. Différents décors peuvent être rencontrés. Nous connaissons une version en grès et une version en faïence. La femme tisse de la laine et porte une quenouille. L'homme se tient sur deux cannes.

We know a version in stoneware and a version in earthenware. The woman weaves some wool and carries a distaff. The man is held on two sticks.
