Jacques Nam (1881-1974) est un artiste qui a produit de nombreux sujets animaliers pour la manufacture de la Hubaudière. La pièce que nous présentons ici est une réédition de 1999 effectuée par le Musée de la faïence en nombres d'exemplaires limités à 100. La pièce existe en faïence blanche. La plaque mesure 26 cm de large pour 14 cm de long. Le sujet a une hauteur de 13 cm.

Jacques Nam (1881-1974) is an artist who produced numerous animal subjects for the "de la Hubaudière" factory. The pottery which we present here is a reedition of 1999 made by the Museum of the earthenware in numbers of copies limited to 100. The pottery exists in white earthenware. The plate is 26 cms wide for 14 cms long. The subject has a 13 cm height.

Le sucrier représente une grande maison à colombages flanquée d'une tourelle et dont les murs sont parcourus d'une dense végétation.

The sugar bowl represents a big half-timbered house flanked by a turret and walls of which are crossed of dense vegetation.

Nous aurons l'occasion plus tard de présenter d'autres services à thé qui possèdent à la fois un récipient pour le lait et un autre pour la crème. Nous avons choisi de remplir ce pot de crème. Il représente un homme adossé au mur en costume bigouden : chapeau rond, gilet au plastron brodé, veste, large ceinturon en cuir à la boucle dorée, pantalon large (braies) appellé en breton "Bragou-braz" et aux pieds les sabots de bois.

 We shall have the opportunity later to present the other tea sets which present at oncea bowl for the milk and the other one for the cream. We chose to fill this jar of cream. It represents a man leaned in a wall in bigouden suit : round hat, vest in the embroidered plastron, the jacket, the wide leather belt in the golden buckle, the wide pants (braies) named in breton " Bragou-braz " and in feet wooden clogs.

Ce beurrier est une boîte représentant une étable au toit de chaume. Sur la face avant on trouve une paysanne qui trait une vache. Sur la face arrière, se trouve le paysan et par la fenêtre on voit une vahce et un cheval. Un arbre longe la maison jusqu'au toit pour former la prise du couvercle. Ce beurrier ne supporte pas le beurre non salé (les Bretons comprendront) !

This beurrier (butter dish) is a box representing a cowshed to the thatched roof. On the face before we find a farmer who milks a cow. On the back face, is the farmer and through the window we see a cow and a horse. A tree goes along the cowshed up to the roof to form the taking)of the lid. This beurrier does not accept the not salty butter (the Bretons will understand) !

La théière représente une maison à colombages sur laquelle pousse du lière. Des personnages en costume bigouden apparaissent aux fenêtres. La prise du couvercle représente une tour.

The teapot represents a half-timbered house on which grow of vegetation. People in  "bigouden" costume appear to windows. The taking of the lid represents a tower.
